Sharmin Group is committed to carrying out targeted activities to promote awareness of the environment and help diminish climate change that has a serious effect. Our focus is on water and energy conservation, Green House Gas reduction and waste minimization in our factory operations. To ensure our sustainable environmental practices, Sharmin Group follows the 5R principles - Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle

- Our approach to environmental management enables us to detect and avoid potential environmental impacts at an early stage.The environmental plans contain a clear set of objectives and concrete activities to be carried out as per the guidelines set by the national regulatory bodies and ISO.
- Its manufacturing plants have instituted an internationally accepted Environmental Management System to restrict pollution activities.
The purposes of the policy are
- To implement a comprehensive and sustainable system for managing all environment-related activities.
- To raise environmental awareness among employees as well as people living in surrounding areas and help reduce the negative environmental impact of the organization’s operations.
- To integrate environmental protection as a corporate value into each organization’s philosophy.
- To present the environmental performance and activities of the organization both internally and externally.
- Sharmin highly discourages launching products in plastic sachets. On the other hand, initiatives are ongoing to reduce plastic consumption, and recycling of plastic is encouraged to be more responsible towards the environment.
To continuously improve the organization’s environmental performance, the following measures are taken:
- Ensured adequate air circulation inside the factory to the acceptable level of health of the workers.
- Emission control / taking necessary steps to regulate the spreading of polluted smoke created by the factory.
- Regulation of garment and wash waste fumes.
- Regular removal of harmful gas-emitting waste chemicals from the factory.
- Dispose of chemical or biodegradable waste at the designated place only.
- Continuous promotion of sustainable washes and using only eco-friendly chemicals is the core policy of the company.
Sharmin Group has a 300 m³, 100% biological ETP to reuse 75% water recycling through Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) and reducing fresh water harvesting.
